Senior BJP leader Amit Malviya criticized the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal for its inability to prevent attacks and atrocities against women, using incidents in Sandeshkhali and RG Kar hospital as examples.
When questioned about the state government not raising the monthly amount under the 'Lakshmir Bhandar' financial assistance scheme for women in the 2025-26 budget, Malviya diverted his response to highlight what he termed as the ''dichotomy between the TMC government's claims and actions.''
Malviya further accused Banerjee of protecting perpetrators of atrocities and criticized the alleged prevalent corruption within the TMC-led administration. He expressed confidence in the BJP's chances in the 2026 elections, vowing good governance and safety for women.
