The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has called on Manipur's Governor, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, to establish a democratically elected government by month's end. The appeal comes amid the state's political turmoil following Chief Minister N Biren Singh's resignation after prolonged ethnic violence.

COCOMI, representing various civil society groups from the Meitei community, submitted a memorandum to Bhalla, urging him to address the crisis that has hindered Manipur's stability. The state has been under President's Rule since February 13, with the assembly in suspended animation.

COCOMI Convenor K Athouba emphasized the need for the governor to outline a clear plan for restoring normalcy, law, and order. They also demanded immediate measures to secure affected villages, open national highways, and check unauthorized movements to ensure peace.
