Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday highlighted the harmonious coexistence of India's myriad languages, asserting that they have always enriched one another without animosity. Speaking at the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, he urged the country to avoid creating divisions based on language and to embrace India's diverse linguistic heritage.

Emphasizing the government's commitment to promoting education in regional languages, Modi declared that major languages, including Marathi, are being prioritized. Modi remarked that literature, seen as a societal mirror, is crucial for guiding society's direction.

Celebrating Marathi's rich contributions, the Prime Minister praised its diverse literature encompassing Dalit work and science fiction. He recalled Maharashtra's historical contributions to Ayurveda and logical reasoning, noting that Marathi also played a significant role during the Bhakti movement and freedom struggles led by figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
