Wang's remarks came during an annual conference focused on Taiwan, where he stressed the need for China to take the lead and persistently work toward 'reunification' with Taiwan.

Despite these assertions, Taiwan's government firmly rejects China's claims of sovereignty, maintaining its stance against Beijing's control.
