Assam's Ambitious Budget: A Vision for Progress and Innovation

On Monday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his gratitude towards Finance Minister Ajanta Neog for the recently announced State Budget, which he described as a comprehensive roadmap to propel Assam into a position of leadership. In a statement on social media platform X, CM Sarma highlighted the budget's potential to infuse new dynamism into Assam's growth trajectory.

The Chief Minister stated, "AssamBudget2025 outlines a robust plan to position Assam as a leading state, building on previous achievements. This year's budget is based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's principles of 'Vikas Bhi and Virasat bhi'. It emphasizes fiscal discipline with an unprecedented capital expenditure of Rs 38,759.18 crore, ensuring no additional burden on citizens. Assam's total expenditure is set to reach a record Rs 1.55 Lakh crore, with GSDP growth at 13%, surpassing the national average of 10%."

Highlighting various innovative initiatives, CM Sarma noted that the budget aims to boost household savings and further energize Assam's growth story. These initiatives include the launch of a satellite, ASSAMSAT, developed in collaboration with IN-SPACe, a Proton Therapy Centre, and a dedicated OTT platform. These schemes focus on uplifting the underprivileged, preparing the state for Industry 4.0, and unlocking the potential of Assam's youth and women. He praised Finance Minister Neog and her team for their exceptional work in crafting this forward-thinking budget.
