Duterte's Legal Dilemma: ICC Arrest Looms
Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte returned to Manila amid potential legal action by the International Criminal Court over his controversial 'war on drugs' policy. Human rights groups allege extrajudicial killings under his regime. Duterte has indicated his readiness to face arrest if an ICC warrant emerges.

Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte arrived back in Manila, as reports circulated about a possible arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) connected to his 'war on drugs' policy.
Duterte had stated he was prepared to be detained, should the ICC issue a warrant. Officials, including the Philippine national police chief and an Interpol representative, reportedly awaited his return at Manila's airport, although this was not immediately confirmed.
The allegations against Duterte stem from accusations by human rights organizations, which claim that his administration orchestrated the killings of unarmed drug suspects. The ICC is considering an investigation into these claims, potentially leading to Duterte's arrest.
