Opposition Uproar in Karnataka Over Congress Committees

Protests disrupted the Karnataka Legislative Assembly as opposition parties BJP and JD(S) strongly opposed the appointment of Congress leaders to state, district, and taluk committees overseeing the government's five guarantee schemes.

The opposition accused the government of sidelining elected legislators by forming parallel committees headed by Congress workers and condemned the use of state funds to pay these appointees.

Despite Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar's assurances, the protests continued, with demands for MLA-led committees and opposition parties promising to obstruct the finance bill if their concerns weren't addressed.
