BJP Leader Claims Triumph Over UPA in Gold Repatriation and Power Management

Senior BJP leader Sambit Patra told the Lok Sabha that the BJP government successfully reclaimed gold mortgaged during the Congress-led UPA era. Sharing his views during discussions on the Supplementary Demands for Grants for 2024-25, Patra highlighted the stark contrast between the governing approaches of the two parties.

Patra criticized the UPA for significant grid failures in 2012, which affected nine percent of the global population. He said that under BJP's rule, despite an unprecedented power demand in 2024, no grid failures occurred. He attributed this success to a balanced and carefully planned governance approach.

Continuing his critique, Patra referenced the UPA's 'reckless' economic decisions and praised his party's focus on accountability, transparency, and developmental vision. He also mentioned the government's efforts to assist Internally Displaced People in Manipur, and touched upon other topics, including a critique on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
