Congress Criticizes BJP's 'Empty Promises' in State Budget

On Wednesday, the opposition Congress party labeled the state budget presented by the BJP government as rife with 'empty promises'. They highlighted what they termed as lapses in the budget, such as the lack of increased aid for the Ladli Behna scheme.

Former chief minister Kamal Nath, alongside senior Congress figures Jitu Patwari and Umang Singhar, criticized the budget for failing to fulfill poll promises related to job creation and support for farmers. The leaders claimed the budget overlooks major issues and contributes to increased state debt.

In defense, Finance Minister Jagdish Devda unveiled the budget for 2025-26, emphasizing new schemes for religious site development without introducing new taxes. Meanwhile, Congress leaders continue to question the budget's feasibility and its potential impact on various sectors including the Ladli Behna initiative.
