Amit Shah's Assam Visit: Infrastructure Inaugurations and Women's Empowerment Initiatives

In a significant development for Assam, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting the state from March 14 to 16. During this visit, he will be inaugurating and attending various programmes, showcasing the central government's commitment to the region's development.
On the morning of March 15, Shah is slated to inaugurate the new buildings of Lachit Borphukan Police Academy. He will also visit Aizawl to attend additional programmes. On March 16, Shah is expected in Kokrajhar for the 57th Annual Conference of the All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) at the Bodofa Cultural Complex in Dotma, before returning to Guwahati.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted that the Assam government will begin disbursing Rs 10,000 to each woman in self-help groups starting April 1, under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan, a flagship scheme aimed at empowering women by aiding them in launching small ventures. This initiative is part of election promises leading up to the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
