The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has come down hard on the Samajwadi Party (SP) following remarks by their Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Lal Suman, who described legendary Mewar King Rana Sanga as a 'traitor.' The BJP has demanded that the Congress clarify its stance on this controversial issue.
Speaking at an event on March 21, Suman labeled the revered Hindu figure as a 'traitor,' sparking widespread criticism. BJP leaders, including senior figure Ravi Shankar Prasad, have questioned the Congress's silence on these incendiary remarks, which are linked to a row over historical figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji and Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
BJP MPs, including Dinesh Sharma and Shashank Mani, have condemned Suman's remarks as inappropriate and indecent, stating it was unacceptable to glorify invaders over leaders who defended the country. The BJP emphasized the seriousness of this issue, viewing it as a matter concerning India's heritage and culture.
