Trump Targets Jenner & Block in Latest Legal Offensive
President Donald Trump has signed an executive order targeting Jenner & Block for allegedly weaponizing the legal system. The order is part of Trump's broader campaign against law firms accused of engaging in political or illegal actions. Jenner & Block has yet to respond to the allegations.
In a significant legal maneuver, President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday aimed at the law firm Jenner & Block. According to a White House official, the firm is accused of exploiting the government and legal system for political purposes. This action is part of a larger effort to hold accountable firms participating in what is described as the weaponization of legal systems.
Jenner & Block, which once hosted key prosecutor Andrew Weissmann of the Mueller Russia investigation, did not provide an immediate response. Weissmann was associated with the firm from 2006 to 2011 and rejoined in 2020 after his prosecutorial stint.
The executive order comes shortly after a similar case involving Paul Weiss, which managed to negotiate terms with the administration to avoid restrictions, and Perkins Coie, which is currently contesting executive measures in court.
