Congress leader Ram Chandra Kadam criticized the police for preventing entry, calling it a violation of their privileges. Tensions heightened as Congress activists joined the fray, leading to allegations of manhandling by the police. Bhubaneswar DCP stated that the Congress leaders were detained for breaching prohibitory orders.
Amidst the turmoil, 12 party MLAs were suspended, prompting party leaders to stage a protest dharna and accuse the ruling government of discrimination against the state's majority ST, SC, and OBC population.
