Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to visit Sikkim on May 16, marking the golden jubilee of the state's inclusion as the 22nd state of India, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang confirmed in the assembly on Wednesday.
This visit is historic for Sikkim's political journey. Modi is slated to launch several development projects, including the inauguration of the Namchi District Hospital, installation of an Atal Bihari Vajpayee statue, and the unveiling of a new ropeway at Sangachoeling.
Additionally, foundation stones for key projects such as the Golden Jubilee Convention Centre, Bhaleydhunga Skywalk, and Nathula Border Tourism Development will be laid, emphasizing Sikkim's advancement as a tourism hub and its continuous journey towards sustainable progress.
