During a solemn wreath-laying ceremony for a fallen head constable, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary voiced a strong stance against cross-border terrorism. The event, held at the police headquarters in Gulshan Ground, saw participation from top officials and the family of the deceased, reflecting the shared grief and determination.
Choudhary implored Pakistan to abandon its long-standing policy of promoting violence, emphasizing that such tactics yield no fruitful results. His remarks come in the wake of a fierce encounter in Kathua district, where head constable Jagbir Singh and three other officers lost their lives while combating terrorists linked to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad group.
Highlighting the unity among diverse communities within Jammu and Kashmir, Choudhary reaffirmed that these acts of violence will not weaken India or disrupt the state's harmony. The speech underscored a call for peace and an end to the destructive cycle of militancy that has spanned over three decades.
