CPI's D Raja Urges Action Against Inflammatory Media Content

D Raja, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), has called upon Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to address the rise of inflammatory content in the media following the military tensions between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor.

In his appeal, Raja criticized some television news channels for spreading unverified claims and inciting communal hatred, warning that such actions undermine national unity and responsible journalism. He stressed the need for the ministry to act against outlets fueling communal discord and misinformation.

Raja advocated for a collaborative approach involving other ministries to provide the public with factual updates and restore access to reliable news platforms. Opposition leaders echoed his concerns, calling on the media to exercise restraint to prevent unnecessary panic.
