Congress MLAs 'Play the Flute' to Protest Government's Insensitivity

Congress MLAs in Madhya Pradesh staged a symbolic protest against the BJP government by playing flutes, drawing attention to perceived governmental insensitivity towards people's issues. This action, led by Opposition Leader Umang Singhar, criticized the administration's inaction on employment, farmers' rights, and reservation implementation.

On Tuesday, Congress MLAs in Madhya Pradesh employed a unique form of protest to voice their grievances against the BJP government. The legislators, led by Opposition Leader Umang Singhar, played flutes within the assembly premises, a gesture symbolic of the government’s perceived insensitivity towards public issues.

Singhar explained that the flute playing was inspired by the adage 'playing the flute in front of a buffalo,' highlighting the futility of reasoning with an unresponsive authority. He criticized the government’s alleged indifference to issues like youth employment and farmers' rights, likening its inertia to that of a 'sleeping buffalo.'

The protest also addressed unfulfilled promises, such as the 27% reservation for OBCs and financial aid for women. The Congress party accused the government of deceptive practices and displayed chameleon replicas to emphasize their point. This marks the second day of consecutive protests by Congress legislators at the assembly.
