BJP state president B Y Vijayendra has denounced the state government's approach to the Dharmasthala controversy, accusing it of orchestrating a systematic conspiracy linked to the ongoing smear campaign.
He announced a state-wide 'dharma yuddha' (battle for dharma) starting Friday, targeting all Assembly constituencies as a form of protest.
Vijayendra questioned the government's inaction against defamation of Dharmasthala despite swift measures against social media posts from Hindu activists.
Calling the government's position either a sign of inadequacy or intentional complicity, he stressed the BJP's resolve to fight for the institution's sanctity and the devotees' sentiments.
This comes amid allegations of crimes over two decades in Dharmasthala by a former sanitation worker, prompting an ongoing Special Investigation Team probe.
