The Congress expressed concern on Thursday as Saudi Arabia signed a strategic mutual defence agreement with Pakistan, signifying potential challenges for India's national security. This development is being seen as a significant setback to the diplomatic strategies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a series of events, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh noted the abrupt halt of Operation Sindoor and subsequent diplomatic engagements involving Pakistan, as further examples of shifting alliances impacting India's strategic landscape.

With Saudi Arabia's recent pact with Pakistan asserting joint aggression policies, India is closely assessing the implications of this agreement on its national and regional stability, as stated by Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal.
