On Police Commemoration Day, Tapan Deka, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, solemnly paid tribute to police officers who lost their lives in service. Addressing attendees at Delhi's National Police Memorial, Deka acknowledged the ultimate sacrifice made by 36,684 personnel since India's independence.

Deka highlighted the event's origins, marking October 21, 1969, when 10 CRPF personnel, led by Karam Singh, valiantly died guarding the India-China border. The day is commemorated annually to honor their bravery. This year's joint memorial parade included operations from BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, and several other forces.

Various programs across the nation remember fallen officers, including a week of events at the National Police Memorial. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also participated, recognizing the 191 officers who died this year. Families of the deceased are invited to partake in the memorial activities.
