The Congress Legislature Party in Jammu and Kashmir has chosen to postpone a critical meeting with its ally, the National Conference (NC), originally scheduled for Wednesday. The decision follows internal discussions and the communication of party members' suggestions and sentiments to the leadership.

Pradesh Congress Committee president Tariq Hamid Karra stated that the meeting was deferred to address sensitive and vital issues more thoroughly. The parties plan further deliberations on Thursday to navigate these complex political waters.

The strain between the two parties has surfaced prominently following the NC's refusal to provide a secure Rajya Sabha seat to Congress, despite offering a contested fourth seat. Additionally, Congress declined contesting in the Nagrota Assembly bypoll, heightening tensions further.
