Diplomatic Standstill: No Russian Presence at Turkey Talks on Ukraine
Russia will not attend Ukraine talks in Turkey on November 19, as Kremlin confirms the absence of Russian representatives. Ukrainian President Zelenskiy aims to revive dialogue, with a U.S. envoy participating. Despite Turkey's mediation efforts, American sanctions on Russian oil majors strain diplomatic relations.
Russia's absence from upcoming talks in Turkey on November 19 has been confirmed by the Kremlin, dampening hopes for renewed dialogue on the Ukraine conflict.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy plans to attend the negotiations to push for peace, with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff also joining the session. However, Russian representatives, including President Putin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev, will not be participating.
Despite Turkey's efforts as a mediator, recent U.S. sanctions on Russian oil companies have further strained diplomacy, complicating attempts to resolve the ongoing war.
