Uttar Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister, Keshav Prasad Maurya, launched an attack on opposition parties, accusing them of concealing truths amid their uproar over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
Maurya, who played a pivotal role in the BJP's recent Bihar Assembly election campaign, stated on his official X handle that parties protesting the SIR of voter lists are hiding something. He pointed to the BJP-led NDA's success in the Bihar polls as evidence of the opposition's weakening position.
Opposition figures, such as Congress's Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party's Akhilesh Yadav, have accused the government and the Election Commission of voter list manipulation. Yadav claimed that over 50,000 names were being targeted for deletion. The Election Commission has rejected these claims.
