A Trinamool Congress delegation accused the Election Commission of India's chief of responsibility for at least 40 deaths related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal.
On Friday, a 10-member team, led by Rajya Sabha leader Derek O'Brien, confronted the EC amid ongoing electoral revisions. The delegation, which included notable MPs like Mahua Moitra and Dola Sen, met the commission officials but left without answers.
O'Brien stated they raised five vital questions about the process but received no response. He criticized the unplanned nature of the SIR exercise, describing it as "heartless." The EC dismissed the allegations as unfounded.
