Kaja Kallas, the European Union's foreign policy chief, asserted on Tuesday that any criticism aimed at the EU concerning liberties might be better directed elsewhere, particularly towards Russia.
Emphasizing the EU's identity as a symbol of freedom, Kallas remarked, "The criticism regarding the liberties here should target a different direction—perhaps Russia."
She underlined that in Russia, dissent and free media are stifled, and political opposition faces bans. Kallas noted that even platforms like X or Twitter do not escape such restrictions in Russia.
