The BJP has intensified its criticism of Rahul Gandhi, questioning his frequent foreign trips and suggesting that he is not fulfilling his responsibilities as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. BJP national spokesperson Tuhin Sinha raised concerns about Gandhi's upcoming visit to Germany, accusing him of prioritizing these trips over important parliamentary sessions.
Sinha went further, alleging that Gandhi's travel itineraries, whether official or unofficial, are not transparently shared, raising questions about his engagements abroad. He pointed out Gandhi's absence during critical moments, such as the vice-presidential polls, suggesting a pattern of neglecting domestic duties.
In response, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra defended Rahul Gandhi, highlighting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spends a significant amount of time abroad. The debate has sparked a broader discussion on the role of political leaders in balancing international and domestic responsibilities.
