Imran Pratapgarhi, a Congress Member of Parliament, launched a strong critique of the BJP on Thursday over its alleged neglect of pressing national issues, such as inflation and the IndiGo flight crisis, while focusing on Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi's foreign visits. Pratapgarhi highlighted that Prime Minister Modi embarked on a foreign trip during the winter session, yet has not addressed significant issues at home.
The controversy erupted after Rahul Gandhi announced an impending visit to Germany, amidst criticism from the BJP. The party chastised Gandhi for his foreign travel during an ongoing Lok Sabha session. BJP MP Kangana Ranaut added fuel to the fire, disparaging Gandhi's character and suggesting his lack of leadership is why his party's fortunes have waned.
In Berlin on December 17, Gandhi is set to participate in a high-profile Indian Overseas Congress meeting. The event aims to enhance the Congress Party's global engagement, with IOC leaders from across Europe attending. Ausaf Khan, President of IOC Austria, expressed his organization's pride in hosting Gandhi and emphasized the strategic importance of the visit in strengthening the party's international ties.
