Yadav, who has held the office since December 2023 and serves as the state's home minister, is facing increasing pressure over the alleged involvement of police officers in criminal activities. Congress MLA Bala Bachchan criticized the administration's handling of the police force, citing specific instances of misconduct, including a hawala racket in Seoni district.

The BJP countered these allegations, with spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi accusing Congress of manufacturing baseless claims. He maintained that the Madhya Pradesh police operate within constitutional boundaries and that the law and order situation remains stable.
