Senior Punjab Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa has accused the State Election Commission (SEC) of inaction despite receiving multiple complaints about alleged misuse of police force, voter intimidation, and efforts to undermine the integrity of the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections.
Bajwa stated that over 24 hours had passed since he filed a formal complaint with the state election commissioner. His concerns highlighted apprehensions regarding violence, booth capturing, and biased policing in Gurdaspur district's sensitive polling areas.
He also pointed to a specific incident in Alma village where police conducted a raid on a Congress worker's home, which he claims was politically motivated. Bajwa called for urgent security measures and disciplinary action against partisan officers to ensure fair elections.
