Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia intensified the political discourse on Wednesday by accusing the Gandhi family of corruption, highlighting claims around the National Herald case. Bhatia alleged that the family misappropriated properties valued at Rs 2,000 crore.
Rebutting the allegations, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge dismissed them as political vendetta. During a press engagement, Kharge criticized the BJP's motives, asserting that the charges against Sonia and Rahul Gandhi lack substantial evidence.
The judicial response mirrored Kharge's assertion, with a Delhi court ruling that the Enforcement Directorate's complaint lacked backing by an FIR. This decision came from a case originally filed in 2014 without an official police report, complicating future proceedings.
