Pradeep Bhandari, the national spokesperson for BJP, has voiced his concerns over West Bengal's demographic shifts, particularly in its border districts. According to Bhandari, the Hindu population's growth rate is declining at an alarming pace, allegedly due to illegal infiltration activities.

In a video posted on his official X handle, Bhandari draws parallels with the 1940s, suggesting that the state's current demographic trends could usher in a dangerous phase. He asserted that the once healthy decadal growth of the Hindu population has dwindled from 21% in 1980 to just 10% now.

Furthermore, Bhandari highlighted a worrying aspect of Total Fertility Rate (TFR), noting that while the Muslim population's growth rate has decreased over the years, the decline in Hindu population growth has been faster. He attributes much of this disparity to ongoing illegal infiltration.
