Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that the BJP is on the verge of securing a majority in the Maharashtra civic polls. According to Bawankule, the party, in alliance with Shiv Sena under the Mahayuti coalition, is projected to achieve a two-thirds majority, affirming their stronghold over Maharashtra's municipal councils.
The elections, particularly heated in Mumbai, show BJP and Shiv Sena leading in most of the 227 wards. Bawankule credited these developments to the people's desire for progress and the impactful leadership of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Votes from Thursday's elections across 29 civic bodies are being meticulously counted. Bawankule highlighted public trust in the 'double-engine' governance model, combining the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Fadnavis to pave the way for Maharashtra's future development.
