In a bold move, opposition parties have decided to strategically focus on key issues concerning the repeal of MGNREGA and SIR during the upcoming Budget session in Parliament. Their agenda includes democratic protests while actively participating in debates on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address and the Union Budget.
The meeting, held in the chamber of Rajya Sabha's Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, saw the participation of several prominent opposition leaders. The collective decision aims to challenge government policies and demand the restoration of MGNREGA, according to AICC general secretary Jairam Ramesh's post on X.
Despite criticisms from Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, who deemed the opposition's actions as a national disgrace, the unified stance emerges amid internal discussions led by Congress stalwarts, including Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. This assembly underscores a committed resistance in Parliament's forthcoming session.
