In a significant political development, the Congress party emerged victorious in the recent municipal elections held in Telangana. The party, led by A Revanth Reddy, won more than 1,300 out of the 2,582 wards contested.
During the elections, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also garnered noteworthy support, securing about 700 and 275 wards, respectively. The results were seen as a reflection of public trust in the Congress' commitment to the state's progress.
Congratulating the party workers, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized the victory as a stepping stone towards achieving 'Prajala Telangana,' focusing on social justice and economic empowerment for the state's 3.8 crore residents.
