BJP is on the verge of clinching the Mayor's post in Karimnagar with backing from independents, solidifying its position as the largest party after the municipal elections. The party, however, opts for the opposition bench in Nizamabad, according to sources from the party on Saturday.
In Kothagudem, tension lingers as both Congress and CPI bagged the same number of wards, creating uncertainty over who will take power. Meanwhile, Congress is set to lead in Nalgonda, Mancherial, Ramagundam, and Mahabubnagar, indicating varied political outcomes across regions.
Amidst the political calculus, BRS extended an olive branch to CPI for potential collaboration in the Kothagudem region, emphasizing battle against state-run miner Singareni Collieries irregularities. The elections for Mayors, Deputy Mayors, and other municipal positions are slated for February 16, adding urgency to the ongoing political negotiations.
