West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee continued her protest for a second day, challenging alleged indiscriminate deletions in the electoral rolls post-SIR. Spending the night at the protest site, Banerjee accused the Election Commission of undermining voters' rights ahead of assembly elections.

Banerjee, supported by senior Trinamool Congress leaders, turned a section of central Kolkata into a protest ground. She alleged that genuine voters were being unjustly removed, declaring plans to reveal individuals wrongly marked as deceased.

This demonstration comes before an anticipated visit by the Election Commission's full bench, with official figures indicating a reduction of the West Bengal voter base by over 63 lakh names due to recent electoral roll revisions.
