West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has issued a warning against tampering with the EVM counting process, just hours after personally inspecting a strong room in her Bhabanipur constituency. The leader of the Trinamool Congress expressed serious concerns about potential malpractice in the electoral process.
After spending nearly four hours at the counting center located in Sakhawat Memorial School, Banerjee stressed the importance of transparency and proposed measures such as limiting access to one designated representative per candidate and installing CCTV cameras for monitoring.
Her actions come amidst heightened political tensions and protests, as both the TMC and BJP engage in a close watch over electoral arrangements. Banerjee's allegations reflect a broader anxiety about election integrity in the ongoing assembly elections.
