Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has voiced strong criticism against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of betraying India by signing a trade deal with the US. Gandhi claimed the agreement would adversely affect Indian farmers and small businesses, exacerbating competition from large American agricultural firms.

During the valedictory event of the 'Puthuyuga Yatra' in Kerala, Gandhi suggested that the deal, perceived as a win for US President Donald Trump, compromises India's energy sector and data sovereignty, portraying Modi as influenced by Trump. He linked this to Kerala's political sphere, drawing parallels with the state CM's relationship with Modi.

The 'Puthuyuga Yatra', led by opposition leader V D Satheesan, traversed Kerala's districts to rally support for the UDF's election strategies. Prominent Congress figures, including Sachin Pilot and Deepa Dasmunshi, attended. The campaign aims to implement a 'neo-Kerala model' promoting governance reforms and public accountability across key sectors.
