Nishant Kumar, the son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, officially joined the Janata Dal (United) on Sunday. He pledged to fortify the party's organizational structure. Nishant, who holds an engineering degree and is in his 40s, was inducted at the party headquarters amid a ceremonial welcome by senior leaders, including Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh 'Lalan' and JD(U)'s national working president Sanjay Jha.

Following his induction, Nishant mentioned that his father's decision to pursue a Rajya Sabha seat was personal and respected. He expressed his commitment to working within the party's framework and strengthening its organizational foundation. Nishant commended his father, citing Nitish Kumar's enduring contributions to the state's development over the past two decades.

Nishant's arrival at the JD(U) office was marked by enthusiasm, with party members waving flags and drumming in celebration. Amidst growing speculation, sources close to Nitish Kumar indicate that Nishant might be appointed as deputy chief minister in the ensuing government structure, especially after his father's recent Rajya Sabha nomination.
