In a bid to bolster the BJP’s campaign for the West Bengal Assembly elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday touted the advantages of the 'double-engine government' model. Speaking in Bolpur, Adityanath underlined the progress in UP during the BJP's tenure, punctuating his speech with the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple as a pivotal achievement.

Adityanath questioned the opposition's ability to match the BJP's pace, dismissing efforts by Congress, the Communists, and the TMC. Instead, he painted a picture of transformation in UP from unrest to harmony under BJP leadership. He leveled accusations at the TMC, suggesting that their governance had turned West Bengal into a hub of corruption and fear and promised sweeping changes with BJP leadership.

He further addressed rallies in Paschim Bardhaman, lambasting the TMC for West Bengal's identity crisis and lawlessness, drawing parallels with UP's past conditions. With the BJP's promise to curb crime, hooliganism, and corruption, Adityanath argued that only a 'double-engine' government could bring about the needed reforms as West Bengal readies for elections on April 23 and 29.
