In the South 24 Parganas district, West Bengal Police arrested three individuals linked to post-election intimidation allegations in Falta. The operation, conducted on Saturday, aimed at probing into charges of voter intimidation and post-poll violence.
The individuals apprehended—Atibur Rahman, Habib Sheikh, and Habib Molla—are reportedly close associates of TMC's Falta candidate, Jahangir Khan. Police have launched a manhunt for two others, including panchayat pradhan Ishrafil Chakdar, both currently at large.
Investigations continue amidst claims of EVM tampering and disturbances during the election. The Election Commission has expressed concern over these incidents, emphasizing accountability and strict measures against perpetrators.
