In a political upheaval reminiscent of a seismic shift, the BJP is reportedly on the verge of forming its inaugural government in West Bengal, a state historically dominated by the Congress, Left parties, and Trinamool Congress. This potential victory marks a groundbreaking achievement for the BJP, as it significantly extends its influence into the eastern state, which is also the origin of its founder, Syama Prasad Mookerji. In an election marked by aggressive campaigning against the ruling Trinamool Congress, the BJP has outperformed its rivals on key promises, currently leading in 191 seats with wins on seven out of 293 counted, according to recent ECI results.

Meanwhile, in Tamil Nadu, seasoned actor-turned-politician Vijay is reshaping the southern political arena. His party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), spearheaded a campaign that resonated with the youth, gaining ground against the long-standing Dravidian duopoly. TVK is leading on 105 seats, signaling a potential need for coalition support, as major players like DMK and AIADMK trail behind. Vijay's strategy has highlighted anti-incumbency sentiments, offering a fresh alternative to nearly six decades of Dravidian party rule.

Congress is set for a celebrated comeback in Keralam with the United Democratic Front poised to end a decade-long Left Democratic Front rule. In Assam, the BJP-led NDA remains on course for its third consecutive assembly victory, fortifying its presence with a strong performance under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. In Puducherry, the NR Congress-led alliance is also securing success, indicating a widespread political shift across multiple Indian states.
