In a resounding victory, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious in the West Bengal Assembly elections, ending the 15-year reign of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman expressed her gratitude to the people of West Bengal, noting the historic nature of this electoral win.
Sitharaman highlighted the oppressive nature of the TMC regime, which she argues betrayed the principles of 'Maa, Mati, Manush'. She praised the tireless efforts and sacrifices of BJP workers whose dedication made this victory possible under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
With over 200 seats secured, the BJP is set to form its first government in the state, with hopes of restoring West Bengal's prominence. As Sitharaman shared, the occasion calls for celebration, including enjoying local delicacies like jhalmuri, a nod to Modi’s campaign trail experiences.
