Pakistan's Premier Condemns UAE Attacks Amidst Regional Tensions
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned Iranian missile and drone attacks on UAE civilian infrastructure, including Fujairah. Pakistan stands in solidarity with the UAE and calls for upholding the ceasefire. The situation comes amidst regional tensions after a US-Iran ceasefire, with calls for dialogue to ensure peace.
In a strong statement on Tuesday, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the recent missile and drone attacks on civilian infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates, allegedly carried out by Iranian forces. The attacks included a strike on Fujairah, a crucial energy hub, injuring three Indian citizens.
Expressing solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and its leadership, PM Shehbaz emphasized that Pakistan stands firmly alongside its Emirati brothers and sisters. He underscored the necessity of maintaining the ceasefire to enable diplomatic engagements for achieving lasting peace in the region.
In response, the UAE’s Foreign Ministry decried the renewed aggression as an escalation and a direct threat to its stability and sovereignty. Meanwhile, Iranian state media cited officials justifying the attacks as a counter to what they termed as US military adventurism in the region.
