Kumari Selja, Congress General Secretary, sharply criticized the government on Tuesday for its inability to address the growing economic hardships faced by citizens. She pointed out that the administration has been urging people to make sacrifices rather than offering tangible solutions. According to Selja, such appeals highlight the government's failure to efficiently manage the nation's economic challenges.
In a statement released in Sirsa, Selja remarked on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent calls for austerity amid conflicts in West Asia. Modi suggested measures like limiting fuel usage, postponing gold purchases, and avoiding foreign travel to bolster the economy. However, Selja insists that offering citizens relief and economic stability should be the government's priority.
Selja also attacked the government over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, citing it as a severe blow to students' futures. An inquiry has been launched following the cancellation of the May 3 exam due to irregularities. Selja stressed the importance of a transparent examination system and vowed that Congress would continue advocating for the rights of students across the nation.
