In the aftermath of fierce internal criticism, Congress leader M K Raghavan has implied that those targeting AICC general secretary K C Venugopal found satisfaction in their actions. Venugopal had faced backlash after his name was floated for the Chief Minister's role, fueling protest rallies, online campaigns, and flex board demonstrations.

Despite not contesting the Assembly elections, reports suggested that Venugopal enjoyed majority support among Congress MLAs. Upon his arrival in Thiruvananthapuram, he expressed feeling deeply affected by the campaign against him, yet maintained a composed exterior. Raghavan refrained from naming individuals or factions responsible for the aggression but acknowledged an inquiry would be conducted.

Raghavan emphasized party unity and commitment to Chief Minister-designate V D Satheesan, stating the matter concerning Venugopal's candidacy was resolved. He extended his support to Satheesan's leadership, reiterating that every decision by the AICC remains final and binding, promising to handle any lingering differences amicably.
