Police have initiated a formal investigation following the appearance of provocative posters targeting prominent Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Mallikarjun Kharge in Wayanad, as reported by officials on Sunday.
The incident was sparked at the Congress office and nearby areas on May 13 amid political uncertainty over the appointment of the next Chief Minister of Kerala. The posters ominously suggested that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the MP from Wayanad, could face a significant electoral setback.
Authorities have captured CCTV evidence showing an individual affixing the posters, and efforts are underway to identify the suspect. The case is being pursued under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Kerala Police Act.
