The mob pelted him with stones, shoes, and eggs, shouting 'thief, thief' as they attempted physical attacks. Responding on social media, Mamata stated, 'RULERS BECAME KILLERS - shame on you BJP.'

Visuals of the event showed demonstrators targeting the TMC leader, and party members contended that the protest was strategically planned to mar his visit.
