In a dramatic escalation of political tensions in Bihar, Congress leader Imran Masood has openly condemned the state's decision to revoke the Z-plus security cover for prominent Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) figures, including Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. Speaking to ANI, Masood accused the Bihar government and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of engaging in a culture of political vendetta.
The withdrawal of security has heightened political divides, with the RJD accusing the state administration of using security measures for partisan purposes. In solidarity with his family, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has voluntarily returned his security cover, echoing similar moves by his parents, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. Shakti Yadav of the RJD has accused the government of targeting the Yadavs deliberately.
Amid the security controversy, Rabri Devi is also contesting an eviction notice to vacate the 10 Circular Road residence, a significant political bastion for the RJD. Despite being offered alternate accommodation, she has resisted leaving, declaring the site important to the party. The developments come as the Bihar government demands the premises be vacated within 15 days.
