Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Prakash Reddy has launched a scathing criticism of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, following Kharge's remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's extensive tenure in office. Reddy claims Kharge is driven by jealousy over Modi's historic achievement.

Speaking to ANI, Reddy said that Kharge, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) president, perhaps fails to grasp the significance of Modi becoming the longest-serving Prime Minister elected consecutively in India. He accused Kharge of diminishing Modi's accomplishments, hinting at possible envy.

Kharge, meanwhile, has accused the BJP of rewriting history to elevate Modi's status. He reiterated that India's longest-serving Prime Minister was Jawaharlal Nehru, followed by Indira Gandhi. Kharge's comments come as Modi, having completed 4,399 days in office, receives recognition from the Prime Minister's Office as the longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister in consecutive terms.
